Zadok Technologies needs your Fiber Optic expertise and support to ensure our projects are completed safely and on time. Requirements & Responsibilities
- 2+ years of splicing experience in telecommunications or utility industry preferred.
- 2+ years in cable construction and/or engineering experience with a thorough understanding of a HFC architectures.
- Perform aerial and/or underground cable and fiber installation work including splicing fiber
- Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber.
- Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicers, uni-cam splicers (Sumitomo, Fujikura, Commscope), power meter and OTDR (Fluke Networks).
- Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber, effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps.
- Use ladders or aerial basket (Man-lift) on poles for accessing aerial fiber plant or installing/splicing fiber.
- Must have basic electrical knowledge in AC and DC voltage (Due to patch panel cabinets being energized for live production).
- Perform underground construction activities, including, pulling new cable/fiber through conduits, digging up and repairing damaged conduit, and underground vaults or pedestals.
