Master Electrician
This position is: Full Time

Position Location: Youngsville, LA

TRACO Production Services is currently accepting applications for Master Electrician. Applicants must be licensed and knowledged and have past experience in constructions, installation, commissioning, start-up, maintenance and support of 12 and 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, and 480VAC 3phase electrical equipment and devices and also experience with electrical automation devices and systems including MCCs, switchgear, and VFDs.


Requirements:

  • Current active Master Electrician license (TDLR a plus)
  • Thorough understanding and practice of NEC, NESC, & NFPA 70E
  • 3+ years of experience as an Master Electrician, in an Oil & Gas production or drilling environment
  • Knowledge of power distribution, MCC, switchgear, pumps, motors, and general offshore equipment on both drilling and production environments
  • Comprehensive electrical & electronic diagnostic, troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Understands and has ability to follow and as-build various Engineered drawings including: Electrical interconnects, Schematics, MCC and SWGR One-Line Diagrams, Panel Drawings, I/O Lists and cable schedules
  • Experience in qualifying correct cabling to be used in various environments using correct codes, standards, and classifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide effective solutions
  • First hand production equipment and process knowledge
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and rotating power equipment required for oil & gas drilling and production environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to handle multiple projects at varying stages concurrently
  • Read, write and complete reports in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate with internal company, external vendors and clients effectively
  • Ability to make routine decisions within a predetermined span of authority
  • Must have a hands on approach and strong work ethic and aptitude
  • Ability to handle basic mechanical tools

Duties / Responsibilities:

Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of Electrical and instrument based systems

Troubleshoot and repair control panels and plant equipment including automation, motors, switches and relays systems

Inspect, repair, and replace switches, control devices, wiring, digital and analog electrical signal and communication systems, solar and battery systems and remove small generators, transformers, and various low voltage A/C (up to 480V) and 12/24VDC systems

Performs all work according to all applicable codes to include NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E

Thorough understanding of API-RP-14C and 14F

Maintain files, logs and drawings for all designated instrumentation and electrical equipment

Troubleshoot breakdowns, diagnose faults and execute repairs

Maintain electrical spare parts inventory to maintain systems reliability

Assist in testing, commissioning and start-up of production facilities

Assist with quality control program and data recording

Complete other tasks as requested by Manager

Work as a team with production and other maintenance staff

Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies

Ensure all electrical and control systems are installed and maintained in a manner consistent with sound engineering practices, all applicable codes, standards and regulations

Analyze repetitive occurrences and provide technical solutions in order to improve uptime and reduce cost.

Layout, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment including generators, transformers, and various low voltage A/C (up to 480V) and 12/24VDC systems
