Quality Construction and Production was founded in 2001 by Troy Collins and Nathan Granger with the philosophy of Quality Service - Quality People. Quality Construction & Production, LLC (QCP) is committed to offering the finest in construction and fabrication services on the Gulf Coast.
QCP provides a multitude of onshore fabrication services that include spool piping, production modules, manifolds, deck extensions, and riser guards and clamps. QCP's offshore services include hook-ups, facilities maintenance and upgrades, compressor installations and field welding. On the contract labor side, it offers skilled operators, technical support personnel, crane operators, roustabouts, mechanics, cooks and galley hands.
Collins and Granger worked for competing oil and gas production manufacturers for years until they met early this decade and discovered a common passion: raising thoroughbreds. A business endeavor developed out of that mutual interest, and in 2001, the pair left their promising and successful careers and incorporated a new offshore contractor: Quality Construction & Production. The company has grown from 70 employees in 2002 to over 800 today, working on production platforms along the Gulf Coast and in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).
QCP recently opened an Industrial/International division that will concentrate on diversifying the company from the Gulf of Mexico and oil and gas industry and focus on alternative energy projects in the United States and abroad. The new division is not without experience in Industrial/International operations, as the division includes several individuals with stints working in plants in Venezuela, Bolivia, West Africa and Mexico. Collins and Granger expect fast growth for the new division and the pair looks forward to diversifying QCP's operations and client base.
QCP has enjoyed tremendous success and recognition in its rise to an industry leader, including earning a prestigious spot in Entrepreneur Magazine's Hot 500, as one of the fastest growing companies in America in 2007. QCP was also featured in Construction Today Magazine and enjoys a safety record that is second to none in the construction and fabrication industry. Collins and Granger attribute much of their success to building solid, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with clients as well as their own employees. This philosophy has given QCP a reputation as a service driven company that consistently exceeds customer and employee expectations.
Building on their success with QCP, Collins and Granger acquired the contract operations and Pro-Active Compliance (PAC) divisions of Production Management Industries, LLC (PMI) from Superior Energy Services on April 9, 2007, and added Quality Production Management, LLC (QPM) to the Quality Companies family. In just a relatively short period of time, QPM has become a profitable entity experiencing growth not only in the Gulf of Mexico, but on land as well, gaining a substantial natural gas plant operations project in North Dakota. QPM has also added a camera surveillance division in a joint venture with WOW Technologies of
In only its second year of operations, QPM was awarded the Lafayette District MMS S.A.F.E. award on March 19, 2009. During its inspections of GOM properties operated by QPM, MMS inspected 318 platform safety components and noted QPM's Incident of Noncompliance-to-Component ratio of .028 which was substantially better than the industry average of .054. MMS also noted the facilities inspected were rated excellent in maintenance and QPM facilities personnel were most cooperative in assisting in the MMS inspection activity. MMS also cited QPM's commitment to safety and the environment. Granger adds, "Much of the success of our companies can be attributed to our employees who are our greatest asset."
Collins states, "We look forward to continuing to grow the Quality Companies family," and hinted that another major acquisition could be on the horizon. Whether or not the new acquisition materializes, it would seem that the future is definitely bright for Quality Companies.
